OK, so this blog is not specifically about bourbon or chocolate, but they are two of my favorite things and hey, I already owned the domain, so I figured, What the heck?
Whether this becomes an actual regular thing or not depends on how interesting our travels are and if I feel it’s time well spent. I realize intentions may not match reality but I do like to write so I’m hoping chronicling our journey becomes fairly regular.
In case you don’t know us and still want to stalk I mean ‘follow’ us, here’s the background:
We’re Greg and Tami. In the spring of 2021, we decided to sell our house in WA and move permanently to AZ. A slight problem though – the AZ place was not available for a while. So after deciding not to join the tent cities in Seattle, we thought living in a motorhome and traveling seemed like something interesting. We spent time researching others who have made it work and decided we could do it too. Now we have a home on wheels!
Neither of us have spent time in a motorhome, much less driven one. Amazingly, in our state no additional training or licensing is required. But based on experience, no training is actually required to have a driver’s license at all, so no problem! We already had a Jeep and that will make a good tow car (toad), or so we’ve heard anyway, so a braking system and hitch were installed and we started prepping for life on the road.
We have a couple traveling companions; two mini Aussie’s (well, one’s not so mini). After much debate, and ultimately using a system similar to the mail-in ballots in the U.S. which allows dogs to vote, we decided to head south. Actually there wasn’t any debate, but I didn’t want to leave out the pups and a chance to mention that any political or divisive comments will be quickly fact checked deleted (unless I write them). This is our travel blog, not Facebook!
So where to, specifically? In the words of one of my favorite 80’s bands, for now it’s ‘Destination Unknown’. We’ll figure that out as we go and hopefully that’s part of the fun!
Lastly, our mission statement:
An open road, our new frontier.
These are the voyages of the Land-Ship Enterprise.
The crew’s mission:
• To explore new cities, national parks, and recreational areas
• To seek out new bourbon and chocolate (and lots of other stuff)
• To boldly go … where we’ve never gone before!
Thanks for checking in and hope to hear from you along the way!
